Who We Serve

Sami's Story

Like many 4-year olds, Sami loves to sing, dress up and play with her baby brother. They live with their mom, who often comes home tired and irritated. She begins drinking almost immediately, and sometimes becomes so angry that she hurts Sami and her brother—both with her words and her hands. Sami is left to babysit her brother often and, because there isn’t much food, they are almost always hungry. It’s scary, and she wishes someone would help. WCH is here to offer safety and support for children like Sami. We provide a safe place and the care they need to begin healing.
